Please review these Terms of Use ("Terms", "Agreement") carefully before installing, accessing, or using EdgeCue ("EdgeCue", "the Application", "the Service").
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using EdgeCue, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction) and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not install or use the Application.
2. Permitted Purpose & Assistive Rehearsal Scope
EdgeCue is developed, licensed, and distributed strictly as a personal cognitive rehearsal, mock interview practice coach, speech teleprompter, and educational preparation tool.
The Application is designed to assist candidates in practicing professional, technical, and behavioral questions, rehearsing structured communication frameworks (such as the STAR method: Situation, Task, Action, Result), and self-evaluating presentation skills during private study.
3. Lawful Audio Recording & Wiretapping Consent Obligations
CRITICAL NOTICE REGARDING RECORDING LAWS:
The Application accesses your device microphone for speech recognition. You acknowledge and agree that you are solely and exclusively responsible for complying with all applicable federal, state, provincial, and local laws concerning audio recording, wiretapping, and the interception of oral communications in your jurisdiction.
- Two-Party / All-Party Consent Jurisdictions: In numerous United States jurisdictions (such as California under Cal. Penal Code § 632, Florida under Fla. Stat. § 934.03, Illinois under 720 ILCS 5/14-2, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and others), as well as under Canadian Criminal Code Section 184 and Mexican Federal Penal Code Article 211 Bis, capturing, recording, or transcribing oral communications without the prior explicit consent of all participants is strictly illegal and subject to criminal and civil penalties.
- Mandatory User Representation: You represent and warrant that you will use EdgeCue exclusively for private, self-conducted mock interview practice where you are the sole speaker, OR that you have obtained prior, explicit, informed consent from all participants prior to activating the microphone or assistant.
- Indemnification: You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Developer against any claims, damages, liabilities, fines, or legal expenses arising from your failure to obtain required consents or your violation of applicable recording laws.
4. Prohibited Uses & Professional Integrity
You agree that you will NOT use EdgeCue to:
- Facilitate academic cheating, test fraud, or unauthorized assistance during exams, certifications, or assessments in violation of applicable honor codes or examination rules.
- Engage in deceptive behavior or unauthorized assistance in breach of non-disclosure agreements, workplace policies, or explicit instructions of an employer or evaluating organization.
- Conduct covert surveillance, stalking, or unauthorized transcription of private conversations.
- Violate Google's Generative AI Prohibited Use Policy (https://policies.google.com/terms/generative-ai/use-policy).
5. Ephemeral Audio Processing & Document Privacy
- Zero Cloud Audio Egress: Audio captured by the microphone is processed 100% locally on your device hardware (RAM). Audio is never uploaded to remote servers or third-party cloud services.
- Zero Audio Persistence: Raw audio waveforms and voiceprints are never written to physical device storage. Audio frames reside ephemerally in RAM and are overwritten immediately upon speech endpointing.
- Default Ephemeral Mode: By default, session transcripts and question-answer records are NOT saved to persistent storage (
saveSessionHistory = false). They reside only in temporary memory during your active session unless you explicitly opt in to local storage in Settings. - On-Device RAG Documents: Any Curriculum Vitae (CV) or job description documents you provide are parsed and indexed strictly locally on your device storage. The source documents are not uploaded for inference. Text you explicitly submit in an AI report or feedback may include excerpts from those documents. You may delete indexed documents at any time.
6. Artificial Intelligence Disclaimers & No Guarantees
NO EMPLOYMENT OR HIRING GUARANTEE:
The Developer makes no representation, warranty, or guarantee that using EdgeCue will result in passing an interview, securing a job offer, improving candidate evaluation scores, or achieving any specific professional outcome. The Application is an automated rehearsal tool provided for practice only.
EdgeCue uses on-device open-weight models (such as Gemma 4 via Google LiteRT-LM). Large language models generate responses probabilistically. Generated talking points may contain inaccuracies, hallucinations, or incomplete information. The Application does not provide legal, financial, engineering, or career advisory advice. You are solely responsible for verifying any information before relying on it.
7. Hardware Performance Benchmarks
Benchmark metrics (such as Time-To-First-Token under 300 ms or tokens-per-second generation rates) published in repository documentation or store listings were recorded on a physical Google Pixel 10 Pro XL test unit under optimal test conditions. Real-world performance will vary significantly based on your specific System-on-Chip (SoC), thermal throttling, battery level, and Android version. The Developer does not warrant that your device will achieve specific inference speeds.
8. Third-Party Trademarks & Nominative Fair Use
Google, Android, Google Pixel, Tensor, and Gemma are trademarks of Google LLC. Qualcomm and Snapdragon are trademarks of Qualcomm Incorporated. Samsung and Exynos are trademarks of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. Reference to these marks is strictly nominative and descriptive to identify hardware compatibility and open-weight model dependencies. EdgeCue is an independent project and is NOT affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Google LLC, Alphabet Inc., Qualcomm, Samsung, or any of their affiliates.

EDGECUE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE DEVELOPER (HIMMLER BENITEZ) BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES, LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA LOSS, OR LEGAL LIABILITIES ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE APPLICATION OR VIOLATION OF RECORDING LAWS.
THE DEVELOPER'S MAXIMUM AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE APPLICATION SHALL NOT EXCEED FIFTY UNITED STATES DOLLARS (USD $50.00) OR THE AMOUNT PAID BY YOU TO LICENSE THE APPLICATION IN THE PRECEDING TWELVE MONTHS, WHICHEVER IS LESS.
10. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Mexican States (Mexico), without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be resolved first through informal good-faith negotiation for thirty (30) days, and if unresolved, through binding individual arbitration under the Rules of Arbitration of the International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR) or the Centro de Arbitraje de México (CAM) in Mexico City, Mexico. YOU AGREE THAT DISPUTES WILL BE RESOLVED ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS AND WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT OR CLASS-WIDE ARBITRATION. Nothing herein deprives consumers residing in the United States or Canada of non-waivable statutory consumer protections under their local laws.
